To me this shows how depraved the West has become. Whether there are Russian sites for donations that are being blocked by Western platforms while permitting Ukrainian donation sites (probable) or whether it is an open market and only Ukrainian donation sites have popped up (improbable) the conclusion must make you feel sick. "Your either with us or against us" and only being with us is acceptable... Thought police and evil ones at that.

Malcolm, do I take it that you aren't opposed in principle to social media accounts raising funds for lethal weapons? Your concern seems to be about blocking Russians while permitting Ukrainians to do so on X. There may be lots of Russians doing this too, but an algorithm favoured Ukrainians in my case. I don't know for sure.

I avoided taking a stand at this point. In so far as it supports the use of lethal violence I find it abhorrent. Outside the context of a war I'd expect/hope it would break laws relating to incitement (since there is a real intent, motive and timeframe to commit violence) and therefore such a post ought to be taken down. In the context of a war things get a bit more grey. Declared wars legitimise lethal violence don't they? The fact that NZ govt is giving money to support the Ukraine war effort hasn't the NZ state effectively endorsed the use of lethal violence? And if they have why shouldn't a private citizen/group do the same? And there's the issue because the West has endorsed the Ukrainian side of the war we are "free" do get on board and promote the same but not the other side? If we can take one side then surely we can also take the other side? Moral dilemmas abound.

Its fair to say I have not yet formulated a fully cohesive view on this but I do support Freedom of Speech but not the promotion of violence...

I'd be interested in some other people's opinions such as @A Halflings View (David Harvey) et al to help formulate a reasonable view on this issue.
