Feels like the majority of these policies are aimed at securing inequality for future generations, rather than attempting to reduce it.

Maybe we can introduce a bill to have greater search powers on bankers, land or otherwise and have being a National party member be an aggravating factor in court.

Nice comment! I agree, Peter, that the present government's policies will, on the whole, most probably widen inequality. The National gang and their associates did get a majority of votes, however.

It’s odd to me that a party like ACT would support something like this considering their typical preaching. I wonder what will happen to all the MCs that are not considered 1%ers (refers to a quote I forget where, that claimed criminal gangs comprise something like 1% of the total MCs)

I don’t think police should be given more authority without a full time body cam requirement whilst on duty.

I wouldn’t be opposed to parliamentarians doing the same.

One thing to look for in the Bill will be how gangs are defined and identified for the purposes of the ban. Jarrod Gilbert in today's Herald is sceptical about the proposed law too.
